"It’s been a struggle for me. I’ve had a lot of problems with food, my choices in food, and stress. It wasn’t hard for me to choose Dr. Feldman’s Wellness Program. I’ve lost 3 inches from my waistline and I was wondering why my pants were feeling so loose. It’s been fun, it’s been the best thing for me. I would refer anybody to this, it’s the best thing for somebody like me. I really needed the direction and people to teach me. It’s been nice and life changing for me and I’m going to continue on this journey as I’m still not done yet and there’s still a lot of work to do. I’m so glad that I did it. My life has changed drastically."
"I did Dr. Feldman’s Wellness Program because I wanted to learn more and with the 5 Pillars of health, I needed a lot of help emotionally and mentally. I learned that I didn’t have to cheat when I was eating out. I did learn a lot. I feel confident enough now to go to a restaurant and ask for healthier choices. I feel free to dance, I feel free to live."
"Thank you so much for pinterest and recipes and for all of this information and for all of the time that everyone spent with us; I’ve learned a lot in Dr. Feldman’s Wellness Program. I’m still a work in progress and I’m going to continue to work on it and hope to get to the point where I feel even better than I do today, which I actually feel great."
"There’s a lot of misinformation out there about what is healthy, what’s the right exercise, and how to manage stress. I’ve been successful in some ways, I’ve had terrible failures in others, and I needed somebody to help redirect me into the more positive path so that there were more successes than there were failures. The knowledge I’ve gained in Dr. Feldman’s Wellness Program is incredible. I like what’s happened. I like how I feel."
"A lot of what I was doing, my body wasn’t responding well to. Dr. Feldman’s Wellness Program was this breath of fresh air for me. What I learned was a lot of things I didn’t know about nutrition. I learned a lot about managing my stress. It’s shown me that when wellness is that important to you, you can keep being the one in charge, and in charge of your own destiny."
"I’m feeling much better after going through Dr. Feldman’s Wellness Program. I was tired and very stressed and I’ve gone through a lot in my life. I’m going to miss the classes because I would get down and then go to one those classes, and it got me back in there and trying hard."
"Dr. Feldman’s Wellness Program really opened my eyes and helped me make myself a healthier person for tomorrow."
"In Dr. Feldman’s Wellness Program, I’ve learned a lot of things that were surprising to me. I’ve experienced a lot of things that were surprising to me. It’s very empowering to have knowledge that we can take out and implement in our lives."
"So I heard about the Wellness Program because I called and wanted to be a patient on the traditional side of the practice. I have a friend that’s a patient and she had said wonderful things about the whole practice and Dr. Feldman. I learned about the Wellness Program and it made a lot of sense to work on getting to roots of what was causing my health issues, so I made the choice to join and take back control of my health. I was having some health issues, but I also just wanted to be healthier and not just cover up my symptoms or manage them with medicine. I received a lot of validation and support through the Wellness Program and that was my favorite part. I really needed support because it wasn’t so easy to eat healthy at home. Now that I’m eating healthier, I actually can’t even eat the bad stuff anymore as it actually makes me really sick, so I can only imagine what it was doing to my body for years. I’m so much happier now and am so grateful for the Wellness Program. Thank you!"
"I got involved with Dr. Feldman’s Wellness Program through my chiropractor who came and saw a seminar that Dr. Feldman was giving and asked me to come and see it as well as she knew that I was trying to get healthy and that I had a lot of issues, stress, and things like that. My chiropractor felt that going through Dr. Feldman’s Wellness Program would help me in a more sustainable way. I agreed and so that’s what I did. Dr. Feldman and her staff have been really helpful in getting me to work on being healthy and getting me onto a healthier path for the future. I’m not perfect, but I’m working on getting better and have gained a lot of knowledge. I’m enjoying the process and look forward to continuing to improve my health for the long term."
"I got into the Wellness Program thanks to my wife. She came to Dr. Feldman’s seminar and told me “I think we should try this”. My health improvement had started about 6 years before I started this program when I quit smoking 2 packs per day and I quit drinking 2 Liters of soda a day. My health journey has been a gradual process and after finishing Dr. Feldman’s Wellness Program, I know it’s going to continue. Through Dr. Feldman’s Wellness Program, I’ve learned even more. There were some things that I knew, but there were a lot of things that I didn’t know. Since we started the program, I’m down 32 more pounds, which is just a side effect of incorporating healthier habits into my life. The best part is that I feel better, I’m healthier, I have more energy, and all in all, I just want to say thank you!"
"As my husband said, we started working on being healthier a while back, and I thought we were on a pretty good track, and then I got pregnant and had our son. After having our son, I felt like everything just exploded with my hormones being all over the place and I was trying to get a practitioner to work with me. There is so much conflicting advice out there with do this, but not that; eat this, but not that; this is good for you and that’s bad for you. I wanted to join Dr. Feldman’s Wellness Program because I wanted to take a natural approach to get to the root cause of my health issues. Everything has been great and I would highly recommend Dr. Feldman’s Wellness Program for anyone that wants to get their health back and remain on a healthier path moving forward. One of my biggest fears was that I would have a hard time getting pregnant again and I’m excited to say that I’m one week away from finishing my first trimester with my second child. Thank you!"
"My struggle started 18 years ago when my husband was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. During researching what may have caused it, or who may be able to help him at the time, I began my own mission of health and wellness for myself and for my family. I was realizing what was out there in the foods that we were getting and I was overwhelmed by the information that was coming into me. I couldn’t come to any realization of who I should believe and listen to as far as healthier recommendations. I met Dr. Feldman last year and realized that she was someone that I could trust and learn from in my mission to gain better health. When I started Dr. Feldman’s Wellness Program, I felt like I was home and that my journey had finally begun. Dr. Feldman is my mentor and I’m so grateful for her and her entire team for empowering me with the knowledge and tools I needed. Thank you so much for helping me!"
"My struggle started a long time ago. I did a lot of research and finally got to a point where I had information overload. I didn’t know which way to go and as it’s been said before, I was fat, sick and nearly dead. I didn’t know which way to turn and I was looking for a doctor that wasn’t going to just keep giving me pills. I was online searching, found Dr. Feldman’s website, emailed her and asked her if she could help me and told her I was desperate. She said come to my talk and see what I can offer you. So I came and listened to the talk and I was crying by the end of it. I realized that this is what I’ve been looking for. I can’t believe that there is somebody that practices medicine like this in the Midwest (I know a lot of them are out in California and West Coast). So I started the Wellness Program and immediately I started seeing results. I was at the point before I came in that my body pain was so bad that I could barely move. Within weeks, I had no pain. I couldn’t believe it and I didn’t even think that it was possible! From then, I just kept getting better and better. The bloodwork showed it at the end and I was stunned at how much better all of my numbers were, including my diabetes, which had been out of control and is now in the prediabetic range in just months! I feel great, I have motivation to go on. I actually started exercising, which I couldn’t do before because it hurt so bad. That alone made it worthwhile for me to do this Wellness Program as I can move again and live again! I got my life back, which I didn’t think was possible. I would recommend this program to anybody. It’s worth the investment in yourself to do it."
"I don’t have a real serious backstory, but the reason I’m here 100% is my husband. He brought me to Dr. Feldman’s talk and was so excited by the end and said 'let’s do this' how could I say no? But Dr. Feldman and Christina were on the same page and felt like when I came in, I was a hot mess! No doctor ever told me that, but I came with a shopping bag full of medications and debilitating side effects to go along with it. So when she said, what do you want to get out of this Wellness Program, I thought hmm we’ll see, and told her I want to get off of these medications and get rid of these side effects that really were becoming debilitating. So we trotted on and went along. No doctor has ever told me that you can turn a lot of these maladies into a success through adjusting your diet, your lifestyle, and exercise. Not one! Many of them give me a pill and say 'now this medicine will cause your blood sugar to go up'. Who does that, to an old lady? I thought, that’s nonsense! And then of course they say 'here’s a pill for the side effects'. So I just got really down and I gave up and thought I was a dummy that believed what the doctor said because the doctor knows best and I had my husband say 'you’re in charge of your own health, not the doctor'. So I started the Wellness Program and in just a few months, every one of my blood test results and levels improved; and not just improved, but greatly improved! I feel better, I have more energy, and can do more. I feel as though I’ve gotten a new lease on life and at the very end, Dr. Feldman called me a superstar- no doctor ever called me that! Thanks to the help of Dr. Feldman and her team, I’m now on the path to better health. The coaching and giving us the knowledge and tools and getting behind us showing us that eating can still be enjoyable. Now we’re on the path to being in the 120Club!"
"I was encouraged to do this in part because my wife came to Dr. Feldman’s talk and was inspired by it. We talked about doing the Wellness Program and I said, ‘yes, let’s do it’. I felt like there were certain things that I felt good about, but there were a lot of things that I think that if I was honest about my health, was not great- in terms of prediabetes and some other things. I felt like I was at a precipice where if I don’t do something now, then it’s gonna get a lot worse. So we went into Dr. Feldman’s Wellness Program together and it was good. I would say that I wasn’t 100% compliant, but I will say that I was complaint enough during most of it that when I did fall off the wagon, I was able to recover. I didn’t notice the results until I stopped and digressed, and it was in those failures when I actually learned a lot. So when I was not so great in terms of complying with things, I noticed that I didn’t feel quite as well. That in and of itself is motivation to continue and stay with the teachings of the Wellness Program. The results were good, there’s still a long way to go and it was good to do it with my wife (and her results were even better than mine since she did a better job sticking with it). I’m very grateful for Dr. Feldman and her team, so thank you."
"I stumbled upon Dr. Feldman’s Wellness Program by accident. I wanted to come to Dr. Feldman because I had a friend who was in her traditional insurance based practice and I was looking for a doctor who wasn’t a pill pusher, who would say ‘let’s try this’. When I got the phone call to come to Dr. Feldman’s talk, I thought 'oh, ok, I’m gonna get into the traditional practice afterwards.' Little did I know what I was getting myself into when I came into the talk, but as I sat in the talk trying to be open minded with Dr. Feldman, I heard my husband. My husband is very educated and sometimes too much with talking about what a mess the current medical system is with insurance companies and how it’s all about pushing pills and it’s not about correcting the problem. I chuckled to myself and thought that my husband could be up there giving a similar talk. And of course I never listen to my husband, so I needed someone else to validate everything that he said. I thought this young doctor is saying the same thing that my husband is, this is an awakening, this is a support system that’s here and I joined the Wellness Program. My health wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great. I liked the labs and being able to compare them and see so much improvement after going through the program. I’m feeling better, my family of 4 is all eating better. My 16 year old daughter who wants chocolate and pasta and ice cream now eats salmon and halibut, and is eating better. My husband has a farm in our backyard with so much mulch delivered every week for this backyard farm and we’re all eating healthy. It worked for our family and it truly has been a great journey. I’m glad I stumbled upon this. This is about us and no matter what got us as wellness program members here, we’re all here now moving forward as a growing healthier community. None of us are perfect, but when you have the days where you did something you really shouldn’t have and you’re not feeling well because of it, this program allows you to get back on the wagon and move forward with the resources, tools, and support. I’ve enjoyed getting to know Dr. Feldman and her support team and knowing that if I have a question, I can get an answer. I thank you all very much!"
"For the longest time, I’ve been so confused about what to do: fats are good, fats are bad, carbs are good, carbs are bad- what are you supposed to believe? It’s like I have too much information in my head and I don’t know what to do with it anymore. The reason that I decided to join the wellness program initially was that I was really looking for an integrative doctor where I could get testing done covered by insurance, but I was looking for someone to really treat me in a more holistic way. I knew a lot of the things that were being taught, but there still some things that I didn’t realize were so important like drinking water. Everyone knows you’re supposed to drink 8 glasses of water per day, but I didn’t realize I was supposed to drink way more than that. Apple cider vinegar, I really think that’s made a big difference, and I knew about it, but now that I’ve really incorporated that, it’s something that really helped me. I think I have a good foundation now after going through the wellness program. I’m still considering myself a beginner and I have a long way to go to get to my health goals, but I feel fairly well armed to do so now. It makes me really feel good that this program is not just about looking at one aspect, but looks at everything, which I very much appreciate. I think I’m much better off now by taking a chance on your program and I feel good about my way forward."
"I joined Dr. Feldman’s Wellness Program for a couple of different reasons. One, because I wanted to do something good for myself and finally do something for myself. And two, because my friend said 'come on you’re going with me to Dr. Feldman’s talk'. My friend had been teaching me over the years some different things, but like her, I wasn’t really sure where to go with all of it and who to listen to. I feel like the Wellness Program has put me in the right direction and where I want to go. I have started exercising more and I had let that go even though I’m a PE teacher. I felt like I wasn’t doing what I should be teaching the kids, so I started exercising more. I’m going to do my 5th 5K this weekend and I actually did a 5K five weeks after having surgery to have my appendix taken out. Dr. Feldman said that was because I’m so healthy and in shape that I was able to recover so well from it and that made me feel good. I would recommend this program for anybody that wants to keep going along the journey of getting healthier."
"My sister has been in Dr. Feldman’s traditional insurance practice and several of my friends for several years, and so like Susan, I wanted to get into the traditional practice, but was directed to Dr. Feldman’s talk. I went to the talk, and then went home and told my husband that I wanted to do Dr. Feldman’s Wellness Program. I had been following Dr. Hyman and some other people in functional medicine and was resonating with what they said, but I came and my goal was losing weight, although in the back of my mind, it was to like feeling better. The thing that’s been most amazing for me personally is that I’ve been a migraine sufferer for most of my life, but over the last 5 or so years, they’ve ramped up and been worse. They’re all Excedrin migraine headaches, not the kind that I need to take a prescription to get rid of. When I started the Wellness Program, I was having about 3 migraines per week, 3 days of migraine, so I would be managing them through the day. So since starting the Wellness Program, and since the detox, I have had only 2 migraines and they were related to me eating gluten. Dr. Feldman thought getting away from gluten might stop my migraines, and she was right. After screwing up twice and getting migraines afterwards, it’s been an easy sustainable change in my diet. For those that are able to take gluten out of their diets completely, when you meet people and say that and they say 'I could never take gluten out of my diet', if you went from having 3 migraines per week and struggling to function, down to having none, it’s pretty easy to do. And it really is pretty easy to do overall. I’ve lost a lot of weight and I hope to lose a lot more weight. The fact that my lab numbers that were getting worse have all stopped and turned and started going down in the healthy direction and not having the migraines, and I’m feeling better, it’s been great, so thank you!"
"I needed a new doctor. I felt like my doctors in the past had been kind of cold and I wanted a doctor that treated their patients well. So I googled doctors in the western suburbs that are nice to their patients and Dr. Feldman came up. So I called the office and was directed to attend Dr. Feldman’s talk. I mostly wanted to just get rid of my upper respiratory problems, I’ve had pneumonia a few times, sinus infections, pink eye, I had all kinds of upper respiratory stuff going on and really bad arthritis and that’s really all that I came for. I didn’t know that I was gonna get much more for my bargain. When I came to the talk, I listened to Dr. Feldman and I knew some of the things that she mentioned, but most of the things that she spoke about were a real eye opener. I thought, wow this is something that I really need. Before Dr. Feldman spoke, Christina spoke, and how she is doing now in comparison to how she was before, and all I could think about when Dr. Feldman was talking (even though I was paying attention) was what Christina said. I thought I want what she has. When the talk was over, and we had the opportunity to sign up for a consult with Dr. Feldman, I immediately got up and signed up right away. For me, it was well worth it. I enjoyed the detox and it was the thing that I dreaded the most. I felt good, never hungry (which is what I feared), I was very proud of myself after the 14 days, but when we were going to go on the detox, I was so scared and thought I wouldn’t be able to go through this. I felt wonderful. I would do it again. At the beginning of the Wellness Program, I was always wondering what do I eat for breakfast, what do I eat for lunch, what do I eat for dinner? It was always my dilemma. Now I know from the experience from this program that there are so many things for me to eat that are satisfying and taste good, but it was just all so new to me. I feel like there was a period of adjustment because of all the years that I made bad food choices, it was hard for me to adjust. One of the things I struggled with the most was the water, I love drinking water, but that much water, especially when I’m working, I’m in the bathroom all the time. It was something I had to get used to, but it got easier over time. After the things that I’ve learned and the education through the classes, which I think was one of the most important parts of this program. In the classes, you get a wealth of information that you wouldn’t get from any conventional doctor. I even look forward now to going to the grocery store and making good choices and even making up my own recipes, I love it. I feel better every day, I don’t walk with a cane anymore, I don’t have pain in my knees at night, I don’t have stomachaches or fatigue after I eat, I can walk for a longer amount of time, I can walk with someone and have a conversation without being out of breath, I can dance again, I can run a meeting (that’s what I do for a living, I’m a meeting planner), so when I’m running around the hotel for the whole conference, it’s hard and sometimes I would need to sit down for a while because I would be in pain, but I don’t have that problem anymore, I have not had a cough, sinus infection, anything upper respiratory at all since I started the Wellness Program, and I sleep better. Basically, I’m just happier. When I had my original bloodwork, I was diagnosed with type II diabetes and that really scared me so badly. I was really upset because I can’t believe that I did that to myself. When I had my repeat bloodwork, I moved down into the prediabetic range, so it’s definitely improved and I’m so happy about it and that was a big deal. My weight and other issues were things I knew I had to work on, but I never thought I would have diabetes and so it scared me. I feel so much better that it is where it is now. I only look forward to proceeding with this program and sticking to this for life. I’m so happy!"
"I started out in Dr. Feldman’s traditional insurance practice and I was looking for a functional medicine doctor when I started because I had gone to a naturopathic doctor several years ago and I lost about 60 lbs, but through external circumstances, I gained most of it back. I had such low energy levels, I can’t even tell you. My last blood test 6 months ago, Dr. Feldman said that if I would’ve come in there 2 points more, she said I would’ve been diabetic and she wanted to put me on medication that day. I said, 'Since I’m going to do your Wellness Program, can I just do this all naturally?' She said, 'we can do it all naturally, but if you come back and it’s the same, we’re going to have to put you on medication.' Thankfully, my last blood test showed that everything in that regard has made big strides of improvement, and I don’t have to go on any medication thankfully. This is just the beginning, I’m 30 lbs down, obviously have a long way to go, and I’m looking forward to the continued journey and working with all of Dr. Feldman’s team."
"I started this out of fear that I was prediabetic and in the beginning of the year I had cut back on carbs, eliminated wheat- not thinking that I was allergic to gluten, but just thinking that less carbs was going to be good. Through a circular path, I found my way to Dr. Feldman’s office and followed her instructions and found out that not only do I have a gluten problem, but I have a lactose problem, a milk problem and making the dietary changes has helped me a lot with digestive problems. I’m no longer prediabetic and that makes me very happy. I’m 20 lbs down and I’d like to be more. I know I’m on a good path. I know I’m on the right path. It’s been a good process of learning."
"I’ve been a patient on the traditional insurance side of Dr. Feldman’s practice for a few years and it was NP Jacqui’s idea for me to join Dr. Feldman’s Wellness Program. Unfortunately for the few years that I’ve been with Jacqui, I’ve seen myself gain weight, get on different medications from other doctors, and so I wasn’t happy. Now I was very happy to see my reds to yellows to greens on my labs- very exciting. I do enjoy the program, I’ve learned a tremendous amount. I’m more cautious about what I eat, I watch what I eat, I’ve learned things that I thought were good for me are not good for me. Although I haven’t really lost any weight yet, with the rest of it, I feel 100 times better. Every part of the whole Wellness Program has been great- I started headspace and I had a very stressful day and despite all of the craziness, I’m calm and definitely much calmer than I would’ve been normally. I’m grateful for all of it."
"I started with Dr. Feldman on the traditional insurance side of her practice. I came to her basically because I was frustrated with the doctor that I had who prescribed me blood pressure meds and it was just an afterthought- like you have high blood pressure, this is you for the rest of your life, just deal with it. I wasn’t really satisfied with that and I decided that I would take more control over my health. I wanted somebody to be able to talk to me, to listen, to collaborate with me, and to get me to feel like I had some say in my health. That’s what I’ve gotten with Dr. Feldman. Every appointment, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve told people that I have a doctor appointment tonight, so you’re not going to see me for like an hour and a half because I’m going to be there and I’m going to talk to her and catch up on everything. It’s not that I’m in for 10 minutes and then they’re writing me a script and walking out the door. Earlier this year, I had a real rough patch and I always knew that my lows used to be really, really low and the Wellness Program and the 5 pillar tenets kept me from sinking too low. I’m always just under the surface now. I’ve struggled with anxiety and depression, and the Wellness Program has been a beacon, it’s been a lifesaver. Thank you."
"I was looking for a doctor who wouldn’t just dismiss me because I had inklings to what was wrong with me or who would collaborate with me and try to figure out what’s really happening and why do I feel like crap all the time. I’m 32 now and I shouldn’t feel like this. After going through probably the hardest year of my life, losing my mom, having back surgery, having a miscarriage, life was just crap and I needed help. So at the end of last year when I had facebook, the Wheaton Mom’s Group has suggested coming to Dr. Feldman’s talk. So I came and thought Wow, I gotta try this. I’ve lost maybe 5-8 lbs and kept it off. As far as my main thing that I’ve really learned about myself is that the stress that I’m under in this stage of life and what I’ve been through has really been what’s causing more of my issues than all of the things that I thought could be wrong with me. So I’m trying to work on my stress, and do the dietary stuff too because the inflammation is real and I’ve found that gluten and dairy are my issues. So working on my stress before I get to the point in my week or day that I feel completely overwhelmed, noticing that it’s building and doing something about it before it gets out of control because I’m really ok everywhere else. I’ve learned a lot too and enjoyed meeting people and will be part of the traditional practice soon."
"At the beginning of the year, I was preparing to celebrate a milestone birthday, the big 4-0. I know, some of you are probably thinking 40 is nothing, but since 40 was the oldest year that I’ve celebrated so far, it was a milestone for me. Leading up to my birthday, I was reflecting on the path that my life has taken, what I’ve accomplished, what I haven’t, and just where my life was going. To celebrate my birthday, I wanted to do something special that would leave a mark, something that would be memorable and special. I decided to coordinate a packing session at feed my starving children. However, this wasn’t just gonna be any packing session, I wanted to fill the entire session. In order to do that, I needed 140 people. So I sent out a fleet of friends and family, coworkers and my parish community asking if they would help make my birthday wish come true. Well, on February 13th, and with the help of all of these people, we were able to fill an entire packing session and packed 213 boxes with just over 46,000 meals to feed 126 kids for 1 year. You might be thinking, what does this have to do with Dr. Feldman’s Wellness Program. I realized that this was a pivotal decision that sent me on a search for a new path for my health and wellbeing. When I turned 40, I had chronic pain in my feet, my ankles and legs were constantly swollen, all of my clothes barely fit because my weight was ballooning out of control. I thought to myself, I think I’m the only 40 year old who feels like she’s 60. Shortly after my birthday, I walked into Dr. Feldman’s office for my annual blood test and I had been a patient of Dr. Feldman’s for several years. I had heard about her Wellness Program, but was never really sure how to become a part of it. As her practice had been growing over the years, it was becoming increasingly harder and harder to get an appointment with her. I wondered what I needed to do to become one of those wellness members who gets to see Dr. Feldman regularly. While I was in the office, I noticed a flyer for Dr. Feldman’s upcoming talk, so I reserved a spot and went. All I remember is sitting there shaking my head the whole time in agreement with everything she said. I knew this was why I wanted to become her patient years ago, and now I was going to get the education help and support I needed to take back my health. The first couple of weeks were tough, but Christina was a trooper and she listened to me after class and was a constant calm understanding voice of support that I needed. I find myself now jonesing for a sip of water rather than coffee and no longer feel like I need naps in the afternoon. The turning point for me was when I started getting recipes from Christina. I like to cook, but didn’t cook just for myself all that often. Now I’m cooking all the time, and to top it off, I’m making what seems like gourmet meals. During this process, I realized that if I could plan events for my family, my friends, and my parish, I could take time to plan my meals for the week and take control of my health instead of it taking control of me. I no longer have chronic pain in my feet, I’ve popped the weight balloon, and I’ve learned to listen to the language that my body speaks. I think the following excerpt from the 'Power of Habit' book sums up what Dr. Feldman, Christina, and the whole team at Integrative Family Health Asssociates is doing with the Wellness Program: When people join groups where change seems possible, the potential for that change to occur becomes more real. For most people who overhaul their lives, there are no seminal moments or life altering decisions, there are simply communities who make the change believable because for habits to permanently change, people must believe that change is feasible and belief is easier when it occurs within a community. I look forward to becoming a member of Dr. Feldman’s La Grange Blue Zone and encourage anyone who is looking for a community that believes change is feasible and that your health belongs to you alone, to join our journey towards wellness."
"The reason I decided to participate in Dr. Feldman’s Wellness Program is because I prefer the word wellness to the word illness. I have been dealing with a lot of chronic pain for many years without success in finding much relief. Also now in my senior years, I have been a bit frightened by what old age looked like in my family and in some of my peers. I thought of what the next 20 years of aging might bring: diminishment of activity, pill bottles on my counter, a cane or a walker, and that motivated me to think seriously about what I could do now to avoid my parents’ fate 20 years from now. I’m reasonably knowledgeable about nutrition, exercise, stress management, and the whole mind body connection, but implementing a practice of healthy living was just not happening for me. Knowledge without practice equals no change. I decided to make the commitment and as Dr. Feldman likes to say, put skin in the game now before I have more serious ailments to deal with. The Wellness Program provides all the best in current information in one place with knowledgeable people available to help me process and put into practice the lifestyle changes that I know I need to make to avoid more weight gain, diabetes, heart disease, and the stiff and aching joints of older age. A few of the things that I’ve noticed since I’ve been in the program are decrease in pain that I’ve had in my hips, a decrease in food cravings, especially for sweets which I’m a huge fan of, and a significant decrease in my hunger. I find I’m not snacking 3-4 times a day, I’m satisfied with the healthy food I’m eating, and I have lost 11 lbs, so I’m happy about that. I still have a long way to go before everything we have learned is fully incorporated into my daily life, and it becomes habit, like meditating and more mindful living, but I feel I’m on a good path and I have the tools and the support to keep going forward."
"I’m the one who comes in and gets weighed backwards because for my entire life, I’ve worshipped the scale god and if he had a good day, I had a good day. I don’t do that anymore and the scale god doesn’t run my life. When I was 5 years old, I was put on my first diet and I weighed 80 lbs in kindergarten and I lost 25 lbs. I had not a clue what had happened to me, but people said ‘you don’t look like yourself, you look like a new person, half of you is gone’. Can you imagine giving that message to a 5 year old? It set me on a course for many decades that was truly insane. After a very, very long time of trying various programs, putting lots of therapists’ kids through college, I decided that I had to get a grip on this and so I decided to educate myself. I did this with a vengeance and I gave up white sugar and white flour, I always hated alcohol and preferred to eat my calorie instead of drink them and I really became quite knowledgeable. I kind of left my doctor in the dust and that’s a very scary thing to see- that you know more than your doctor about certain things. I would mention to her that I was taking turmeric or whatever and she’d say things like 'I suppose it can’t hurt you'. I thought, can’t hurt me? I know it’s really good stuff. Over the course of the years, we would kind of run into each other like when it came time for flu shots of other vaccines, etc. I became very disenchanted with the whole medical system and then last winter, I heard about a movie that was being shown nearby and so I went to this movie and Dr. Feldman sponsored it. I thought, wow, an MD who has as much disdain for the conventional medical system as I do. Eureka, that’s really a cool thing. So I wanted to find out more about her. I found out about her Wellness Program and I believe in being proactive. I know that it’s my responsibility and I don’t want to go into the yets- all those things that are waiting out there, there is no question about it, they’re waiting and I don’t want to embrace them and certainly not any sooner that I have to. So with my husband’s terrific support, I embarked on the Wellness Program. It’s turned out to be a wonderful relationship not only with Dr. Feldman and her team, but also with the people who are on the same journey I’m on. That’s why I felt so strongly that we are getting launched into a whole new realm, a realm of assuming responsibility, of being proactive, and this is the first program I have found that addresses that and I’m grateful. So thank you!"
"Why did I do Dr. Feldman’s Wellness Program? When I started, I thought I would do it to support my wife, she’s gone through a couple of programs and I thought that would be a good way to help support her. It really came down to watching the introduction and seeing what was possible. I saw my numbers all going up: my cholesterol, blood pressure, my age, stress from work. All of that stuff was going up and I realized I have to do something for myself. This came out very good, I’m down 22 lbs, my numbers are all down, and I feel like I’ll be able to spend a lot more time in the future with my wife and that’s why I did this."
"6 years ago, I got diagnosed with Hashimoto’s autoimmune disease and I was pretty asymptomatic for about 4 years. After that, I started to become symptomatic in 2014. After that, things just started to pile up, one inflammatory condition after another. We actually have an autistic son who did functional medicine and has recovered from autism basically because of what he did through functional medicine: he’s 6 years old and now a mainstream first grader. I knew it was possible for me to get healthy again. I knew that this Wellness Program wasn’t the end for me. I’ll be 40 next year and I still have a lot of life to live. What I enjoyed about the Wellness Program is that it really reinforced things that I already knew by raising a son with autism, and I’m glad I had that foundation- a bit of a blessing in disguise as my son’s condition helped prepare me for my journey through this program. The Wellness Program was a really warm environment, Christina always provided a very social, respectful environment for us to be able to share. I will continue moving forward with what I learned in the program so that I can be well to help support my family."
"I’m 60, and I’ll be 61 in January and I work in the medical field and I do a lot of sitting with patients one on one, and I was starting to notice stiffness setting in. I’ve never really dieted or anything, but at the beginning of the year I was 220 lbs and I realized that I have to lose weight and I have to get a hold of my health. I had already started to take some high blood pressure medicine and I thought before I start getting that message of diabetes, etc, I wanted to do something with my health. So I got into a program through my health insurance and it was pretty traditional and only lasted 3 months and I lost 11 lbs. I knew I needed more and then I happened to meet Dr. Feldman in her office and learned about her Wellness Program. I decided to participate in it and I’ve lost another 8-10 lbs and I know the 20 lbs I’ve lost are not ever coming back and that’s exciting to know that. My numbers improved, I’ve learned a lot, and this is really a journey for me having to relearn eating and I’m starting to build in some exercise. I was experiencing knee problems and now they’re gone! I’m actually doing Cross-Fit exercise- a big deal for me and I’m not having any issues with my knees like I was before this program!"
"I kind of stumbled into Dr. Feldman’s Wellness Program because I was looking for a holistic physician and I found Dr. Feldman years ago, but I didn’t act on it right away. Then I finally did call, and I went to her talk, and then I signed up because I thought this might be a good thing and it was! My cholesterol was high and with diet and lifestyle changes I learned in the program, it came down from 274 to 220, so that was a good thing. I was lucky to join!"
"I was kind of pushed into it by my wife because at first I was skeptical and didn’t know what I was getting into, but I’m really glad I joined Dr. Feldman’s Wellness Program. Everything changed! Everybody thinks I’m dieting, but it’s a lifestyle change and I’m feeling great and my stress is lower. I’ve tried a lot of foods now and there’s much better stuff out there besides junk food. I’m really happy not only just because of me, but for my kids and for the future for them to set them on the right path and make a better life for them."
"I’ve known Dr. Feldman for quite some time in her traditional practice and I came to her looking for something better, to become healthier. It’s been a lot of work and I’m a work in progress. A lot of things have happened in my life and I sometimes resist new things and a new way of living. Nurse Jacqui talked to me about Dr. Feldman’s Wellness Program because I didn’t want to be on pills anymore. After talking with Dr. Feldman and learning more about her Wellness Program, it really opened up my eyes even more because I want to enjoy my life. I want to get to a point when I retire, I want to live my life even more, have more years and less stress. There’s still a lot more for me to learn, but I’ve learned a lot. There was a beautiful group of people that I was with. Christina gives us a lot of courage and strength and it’s been a blessing. I have lost some pounds, so I do feel good. Thank you to Dr. Feldman and her team!"
"I came to find Dr. Feldman by the internet. I had gone through another program with another natural doctor and the program wasn’t as thorough as Dr. Feldman’s. I was having allergic reactions to foods because my system was fighting everything and it was all flared up. I’ve had a thyroid issue for many years and I was taking synthroid for many years and it stopped working. The weight started coming back on and I know my thyroid and when it’s not working- I start losing my hair, my nails are brittle, my skin is itchy and all of these issues are related to my thyroid. On top of that, my cholesterol is high, which also backs up with the thyroid. My liver enzymes were high because of the thyroid. My blood pressure was high because I had put on an obesely amount of weight again. I’ve done this several times off and on in my life where I would lose the weight and put it back on, which I know is not healthy and I want to stop that. So that initial program didn’t work and I was looking for someone who would give me a natural thyroid medication. I was told to come to Dr. Feldman’s Talk to learn about her Wellness Program. I joined her Wellness Program and I don’t think I’m going to need the thyroid medication now. I’m still on my way of fixing my thyroid and it’s getting better, my blood pressure is down, I’ve lost about 25-27 lbs, I feel really good, and this is the first time that with the change of seasons, I’m not fighting depression. Emotionally I feel better. I have a wonderful husband who is also supporting me through the Wellness Program and that helps. We are recently married and I want to live another 30 years at least with him. I have a brand-new baby granddaughter that I want to be a physical grandmother with- I don’t want to be a grandmother that can’t move with her. I’ve seen wonderful progress and I’m not done and I’m willing to continue on this path because I do see the progress and I feel the progress. For 2.5 years, I did not sleep. I’ve been on the Wellness Program for a while and I would say that in the last few weeks, I’m starting to sleep and this is huge for me! Christina is very supportive and she’s always been there and thank you Dr. Feldman and your entire team for helping me!"
"The only reason why I found Dr. Feldman is because of my kids because I was looking for a new pediatrician for them. They had a green doctor before, and there were a whole bunch of problems going on with that, so we couldn’t go there anymore. I went back to my midwife and she recommended Dr. Feldman. I called and I was told to come to Dr. Feldman’s talk. When I finally attended her talk, it was a while after I had initially called Dr. Feldman’s office and I started developing pains in my hands and feet. I had just gone to a new doctor to get all of this bloodwork done and decided to check out what Dr. Feldman was offering. I was really surprised that my husband wanted to come and learn more too. We both decided to do the program. Before the program, I couldn’t get through a day without sugar, cake, cookies, chocolate- I wasn’t heavy or anything, but I just needed it. After the program now, I don’t really need that anymore, especially after detox- that was great and it just killed my cravings. I have no pain in my hands and feet now. If I do have some sugar, I feel it right away and then I think, why did I do that, I feel horrible and it makes it easy then to stay away. Thank you Dr. Feldman!"
